The Garner HD-3WXL Degausser is designed to run CONTINUOUSLY. With a fast 12 second cycle time (6 seconds on first hard drive) it is perfect for degaussing large quantities of media quickly and easily. The HD-3WXL erases hard drives and high coercivity tape media including all formats of LTO (1,2,3 and 4), SuperDLT I & II, DLT, 9940, 3592, AIT, 8mm, and more, all without adapters.

HD-3WXL Operations:

The HD-3WXL is exceptionally user friendly. Simply slide the hard drive or tape into the slot on the left side of the unit and press the ERASE button. Within six seconds you media will be completely erased and will automatically slide out the right side of the unit. If space is at a premium, the HD-3WXL's compact design takes up just over 1 square foot. 

Batch Degaussing:

When erasing large quantities of media, the HD-3WXL can be placed in BATCH DEGAUSSING MODE. This mode automatically cycles the HD-3WXL, eliminating the need for the the user to press the ERASE button each time. The user simply places the media into the HD-3WXL when the green "READY" light illuminates. The media is then automatically erased and released down the exit slide.

Degauss vs. Overwrite:

The HD-3WXL produces an erasing field several times stronger than the erasing field produced by the read/write heads in hard drives and tape drives. This makes for a deeper and more efficient erasure than software based wiping programs. Since the HD-3WXL will also completely and permanently erase failed and damaged hard drives regardless of the operating system or interface.

Erasure Verification Tests:

Hard drives erased with the HD-3WXL have been tested and verified by hard drive manufacturers, information recovery companies, private and governmental forensic laboratories which independently confirmed no data was recoverable.  

IMPORTANT - Please be aware that degaussing hard drives should only be done for destructive purposes. Degaussing erases the hard drive's servo chip thereby rendering them unusable.
